The .UZ Domain Administration delivered a report at the main event of the ICANN81 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING


The Single Integrator UZINFOCOM, representing the .UZ Domain Administration, participated in the main event of the ICANN81 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING, held from November 9 to 14, 2024, in Istanbul, Turkey.

For reference: ICANN (the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) plays a key role in coordinating the global domain name system and internet protocols. The ICANN81 Annual General Meeting brings together industry experts and leaders to discuss key topics and future innovations.

ICANN81, the largest event in internet governance and the domain industry, gathered over 3.200 participants from around the world, including representatives from the global technical community and internet governance specialists. The event provided a platform for experience exchange and discussion on key issues to improve internet accessibility.

A representative of the .UZ Domain Administration presented a report on current trends and prospects for the development of the .UZ domain, also detailing the implementation of new services based on advanced technologies, such as blockchain and artificial intelligence.

In his speech, the Head of the .UZ Domain Administration, Askhat Gimranov, emphasized that the .UZ domain zone strives to meet the best global standards by implementing innovative solutions that enhance service quality for users and strengthen trust in the national domain infrastructure. An important step in this direction has been the launch of new services based on blockchain technology, which ensures greater transparency in processes and reduces risks of misuse, such as cybersquatting and the unauthorized use of domain names. International cooperation within ICANN and similar forums not only allows for knowledge exchange with leading industry experts but also contributes to the adoption of advanced technologies in national domain zones.

Participation in ICANN81 marked a significant milestone for the .UZ domain zone, laying the foundation for future development of the national internet infrastructure through advanced technologies.
