.UZ DOMAIN ADMINISTRATION PRESENTS INNOVATIONS AND EXPERIENCE AT APTLD87 IN HONG KONG
From February 10 to 13, 2025, the 87th conference of the Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Association (APTLD87) is taking place in Hong Kong. This significant event brings together leading experts, national registries, and internet governance specialists from around the world.
APTLD87 covers a wide range of topics related to managing country-code top-level domains (ccTLDs). Key discussions include cybersecurity, domain industry regulation, technological innovations, growth strategies for domain zones, and international cooperation. Additional focus is given to multilingual domain implementation, internet infrastructure resilience, and cybersecurity threat prevention.
The .UZ domain administration is participating online. One of the key presentations showcased the .UZ Domain Name Auction, highlighting the technological aspects of a blockchain and AI-powered platform, along with the benefits of the new premium domain distribution mechanism. This project marks a crucial step in the development of Uzbekistan’s national domain space, aiming to enhance transparency and efficiency in managing valuable domain names.
Another presentation, titled "DS Automation, .UZ Experience" explored modern approaches to automating the delegation and management of DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions). It demonstrated .UZ’s advancements in automating security key management, enhancing the reliability and security of the national domain zone. This experience can serve as a valuable reference for other ccTLD registries looking to modernize their infrastructures.
APTLD87 plays a key role in shaping the future of national domains in the region. By fostering knowledge exchange, addressing current challenges, and implementing cutting-edge technologies, the conference strengthens ccTLD registries, ensuring security, stability, and innovation in the Asia-Pacific internet landscape.
